The Character of Islay Whisky Company is holding a virtual Burns Night celebration on January 21, and we’re all invited. Dr Sam Simmons, Head of Whisky, will be hosting this free to attend, appropriately themed gathering.
The shindig, which will be streamed on the @characterofislay Facebook and YouTube channels at 8pm, promises a whole host of whisky legends, ready to delve into the work of the titular Scottish storyteller. We’re told yarns will be spun and fires will roar.
There will also be a tutorial on how to make a delicious whisky cocktail with The Character of Islay Whisky Company’s Aerolite Lyndsay (46 per cent ABV).
The shindig promises a whole host of whisky legends, ready to delve into the work of the titular Scottish storyteller…
Aerolite Lyndsay is a 10-year-old single malt peated whisky, sourced from an undisclosed distillery on Islay and rested in a mixture of bourbon barrels and Spanish oak sherry quarter casks. Nose a glass and you should be able to pick up peat and sweet salted caramel, with your first taste evoking leather and dark chocolate. The finish is short, so you’ll soon want another sip.
