Smartphone and technology specialist Xiaomi is collaborating with award-winning photographer Steve McCurry, to launch its flagship Mi 10T Pro handset. The brand’s ‘My Unsung Heroes’ campaign features images captured on the Mi 10T Pro.
With smartphone photography now the biggest incentive for buyers to upgrade their mobile devices, this synergistic partnership makes a lot of sense. McCurry, with a career spanning over four decades, holds the Centenary Medal for Lifetime Achievement 2019, and is a world renowned photographer known for his ability to capture the essence of humanity in his images, most famously for his enigmatic portrait The Afghan Girl, of an Afghan refugee who featured on the cover of National Geographic back in 1985.
Xiaomi says its campaign ‘invites us all to capture the special people and key moments in our lives with the new 108-megapixel AI triple camera’ and ‘ensure each photo lives on with us forever in the highest definition.’
‘The single most important feature for consumers purchasing a new mobile device is the quality and user friendliness of the camera,’ says the brand.
