Nokia partners James Bond epic No Time To Die for 8.3 5G smartphone launch

Nokia has enlisted James Bond to help promote its new 8.3 5G smartphone, announcing the mobile as the official smartphone partner of upcoming 007 blockbuster No time To Die

To celebrate, new female ‘00’ agent Lashana Lynch, who plays Nomi in the film, took part in a Bond-inspired photo shoot using the Nokia 8.3 at Pinewood studios, home to the James Bond franchise.

The shots feature Lashana in one of her costumes from the movie, alongside an Aston Martin DBS Superleggera and Triumph Thruxton RS motorcycle.

“Boasting a Zeiss Cinema capture and editor app, the 8.3 smartphone will shoot 4k video in a 21:9 aspect ratio

The Pinewood connection is appropriate. Boasting a Zeiss Cinema capture and editor app which offers cinematic style effects, the 8.3 will shoot 4k video in a 21:9 aspect ratio, with the option of pro-style colour grading on the device.

With a 6.81-inch FHD+ screen, the smartphone also boasts low-light video recording and OZO audio recording.

The smartphone’s camera spec is impressive. The 64MP main sensor uses Quad Pixel technology for detail enhancement and sensitivity, and there’s a 2MP depth camera for portraits with bokeh; a 12MP ultra-wide camera; 2MP macro lens and 24MP front-facing camera.

Research revealed a third of Brits consider themselves to be ‘phone-ographers,’ with the average adult taking around 12 pictures a day.

Florian Seiche, CEO of HMD Global which produces Nokia phones, talking about the photoshoot, said: “A 00 agent, 00 cars, 00 bikes, an 8,000 square foot stage at Pinewood Studios and a stunt phone-ographer capturing everything on the Nokia 8.3 5G smartphone, felt about right…the results show the possibilities of this new smartphone.”

The Android-based Nokia 8.3 5G will be released October 8, priced £499.
