Fabulously formidable Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport courts buyers at London preview

The stunning new Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport has made a rare public appearance at a private customer preview held by H.R. Owen Bugatti London. The showroom, located among the boutiques and ateliers of London’s prestigious Mayfair district, was the only place in the UK where buyers could see the supercar.

The preview took place the first week after showrooms were allowed to open again after lockdown, with managed attendance and social distancing. Although as was pointed out to us, this did not present any particular problems as the number of potential Bugatti customers is the very definition of select!

Unveiled earlier this year, the Chiron Pur Sport is limited to only 60 vehicles worldwide, and boasts a range of technological improvements to the chassis, gearbox and engine to enhance performance. Small wonder it’s been hailed as the most agile and uncompromising Chiron to date.

New additions include lightweight exhaust tailpipes made of 3D-printed titanium, and magnesium wheels, both of which help it cut weight and improve performance.

The Chiron Pur Sport is gloriously uncompromising

Bugatti engineers have revamped the chassis set-up and developed a new gearbox. The gears have been shortened by 15 per cent, for more dynamic handling and greater power distribution. As a result it accelerates in sixth gear from 60 to 120 km/h three seconds faster than the Chiron. The car wears newly developed Michelin Sport Cup 2 R tyres, to max out cornering speeds. I think we can call it lively.

The interior of the  Chiron Pur Sport is a temple to performance, with extravagances kept to a bare minimum. Leather upholstery is out, replaced by lightweight Alcantara. Dynamic patterns have been lasered onto the door panels with contrasting fabric for a metal look.

H.R. Owen Bugatti is a temple to all things Bugatti

Even if you’re not looking for premium wheels, the showroom is well worth a visit, as it features a number of pieces from the Bugatti Home collection, including specially designed armchairs made of premium leather and blue carbon fibre.

Reflecting Bugatti’s history and heritage, there’s a selection of art installations and sculptures that celebrate the brand.

The H.R. Owen-operated site is the UK’s only official Bugatti retailer.
