Picturehouse Entertainment has just dropped the first official trailer for Proxima, due in cinemas on May 8 2020.
The third outing from director Alice Winocour, the science fact drama stars Eva Green as an astronaut training at the European Space Agency in Cologne. The only woman in the gruelling space programme, she has been chosen to be part of the crew of a year-long space mission aboard the International Space Station, called Proxima.
The training puts an enormous strain on her relationship with her daughter (played by newcomer Zélie Boulant-Lemesle), as the launch looms closer.

The movie also stars Matt Dillon, Lars Eidinger and Sandra Hüller, and was shot in various real training facilities of the European Space Agency, in Europe, Russia and Kazakhstan.
Cinematography is by George Lechaptois, production design by Florian Sanson, with music composed by Ryūichi Sakamoto.
