There’s no mistaking what you’ll get when you uncork the latest whisky release from Compass Box. Pointedly named This is a 10-Year-Old Whisky, this limited-edition blend puts the exact age and provenance of every whisky in the bottle front and centre.
Made from three single malts, the expression brings together Clynelish, peated Ardnamurchan and unpeated Ardnamurchan, with every component aged for exactly 10 years.
For whisky geeks, the published proportions make this an unusually transparent bottle to dissect.
All three malts were matured in first-fill bourbon barrels, with Clynelish accounting for 66.5% of the recipe, peated Ardnamurchan 20.2% and unpeated Ardnamurchan 13.3%. The whisky is bottled at 50.5% ABV, with no artificial colouring and no chill-filtration.
Compass Box has also individually numbered each of the 3,610 bottles being released worldwide.
