Pro-Ject has introduced two all-in-one stereo setups as colourful as the limited edition vinyl they can play. The Colourful Audio System 2 and Colourful Audio System E combine the brand’s expertise in analogue design with digital amplification and advanced connectivity, and are available in a variety of vibrant interior-friendly finishes.
Each package includes a turntable, stereo amplifier, and passive bookshelf loudspeakers, all designed and matched by Pro-Ject’s audio engineers. Crucially, every component, down to the cartridge and speaker cables, is included in the box, making the systems ideal for those looking to elevate their listening without the need to mix and match different brands.
Vibrant sound, tailored looks
The Colourful Audio System 2 is the higher-spec option, built around the Debut EVO 2 turntable. This model features a carbon fibre tonearm, a damped aluminium platter, and comes fitted with Pro-Ject’s new Pick it MM EVO cartridge. Amplification is handled by the MaiA S3, a compact 40 watts per channel unit with eight inputs, including digital, analogue, and aptX HD Bluetooth streaming.
The included Speaker Box 5 S2 bookshelf speakers feature a bass-reflex design for a spacious soundstage, while isolation feet and terminated speaker cables round out the package.
Finish options include six satin colourways (Black, Fir Green, Golden Yellow, Steel Blue, White, and Wine Red, the latter exclusive to this system), along with a Walnut wood veneer. The system offers everything you need for full-scale stereo, with the flexibility to evolve with future upgrades.
Positioned as the more affordable option, the Colourful Audio System E pairs the newly designed Debut E turntable with the Stereo Box E amplifier and Speaker Box 5 E Carbon loudspeakers.
This turntable is exclusive to the package and comes equipped with an aluminium tonearm, steel platter, and Ortofon OM5e cartridge. The stereo amplifier again provides 40 watts per channel, supports Bluetooth streaming, and offers a mix of analogue and digital inputs.
The Speaker Box 5 E Carbon speakers sport a carbon fibre woofer and silk dome tweeter. Like it’s more expensive stablemate, the package is available in a choice of satin colours plus a Walnut veneer, with the amp finished in black.
A key benefit of both Pro-Ject systems is their modular nature; both options comprise separate components, allowing owners to replace or upgrade individual parts over time.
This includes cartridges, amplifiers, and even loudspeakers, giving newcomers to vinyl the option to grow their system without starting over. Both packages are handmade in Europe.
The Colourful Audio System 2 is priced at £1,799, while the Colourful Audio System E is available for £1,099.
