I experienced the future of home living with Samsung’s AI-powered smart kitchen appliances

Samsung smart appliances with AI

Samsung has introduced a new family of smart home enabled refrigerators, which promise to transform any kitchen into a high-tech command centre, where food management, home control, and entertainment are seamlessly served.

The brand has also brought AI to its most powerful stick vacuum cleaner yet.

I had a closer look at the new models at World of Samsung, an industry showcase held recently in Frankfurt, and glimpsed a connected future which for many has already arrived.

Samsung says AI is already offering a multitude of innovations for the home

A new AI Energy Mode can intelligently optimise power consumption by automating appliance usage, for example, charging a Samsung Jet Bot AI robot vacuum cleaner during off-peak hours or adjusting washing machine settings to cooler temperatures for smaller loads.

Leading Samsung’s new refrigerator line-up are advanced models featuring built-in screens that promise to transform your kitchen into a connected smart home hub. The brand’s top of the line 4-Door, 4-Door French Door, and Side-by-Side refrigerators now boast a 9-inch AI Home screen that serves as the command centre of your culinary kingdom.

A fancy gimmick? I don’t think so. Having seen its new screen-enabled fridges in action, the benefits are clear.

At the heart of this new refrigerator line-up are advanced models featuring built-in screens that promise to transform your kitchen into a connected smart home hub…

Some select new Samsung models also offer an enhanced Family Hub screen, available in 21.5-inch or even 32-inch sizes, able to provide real-time updates, a shared family calendar, and even Spotify integration for your morning tunes!

I particularly like AI Vision Inside, a feature you’ll find on select 4-Door and 4-Door French Door models. It can recognise up to 50 items and provide tailored recipe recommendations and meal planning, based on what you have available; it’s like having a personal chef and nutritionist at your fingertips.

Samsung has cleverly woven its smart home ecosystem into these appliances by integrating Map View, SmartThings Energy, and voice command capabilities through its Bixby voice assistant.

The refrigerators not only keep your food at the perfect temperature with Hybrid Cooling and SpaceMax insulation, but also let you control your home’s lighting, plugs, and more, all from the central hub in your kitchen!

These fridges are the very definition of cool.

Enter the AI Jet Ultra Vacuum Cleaner

Samsung is even bringing AI to stick vacuum cleaners. Its new Bespoke AI Jet Ultra is touted as the world’s most powerful cordless stick vacuum cleaner.

Powered by a unique HexaJet motor that delivers up to 400W of suction power, stubborn dirt doesn’t stand a chance. Airflow is said to be not only strong but incredibly efficient. On a single battery charge in ‘Min’ mode, it can run for up to 100 minutes.

What truly sets this vacuum apart is its upgraded AI Cleaning Mode 2.0. Samsung’s AI Optimum tech, integrated with the new mode, senses brush load and air pressure to classify up to six different cleaning environments. Whether it’s distinguishing between a short-pile and a long-pile carpet or recognizing tight corners with its Slim LED Brush+, the vacuum automatically adjusts its performance.

Samsung’s smart refrigerators are available now, with varying prices based on size and features, from as low as £799 to models priced well into six figures for the most advanced configurations.

The Samsung Bespoke AI Jet Ultra vacuum cleaner is also out now, priced at £1199, making it a premium, potentially indispensable, addition to your smart home arsenal.
