Romanian artisan headphones manufacturer Meze Audio has unveiled POET, high-performance planar-magnetic headphones with a lightweight, open-back form factor and meticulous build quality.
Designed for at home listening, these compact cans leverage Meze Audio’s partnership with Rinaro Isodynamics, incorporating the MZ6 Isodynamic Hybrid Array driver, engineered for precision, detail, and immersive audio reproduction.
Each 92 x 63mm driver driver is hand-assembled and tested at Rinaro’s facility in Ukraine. Features include a light 0.06g Parus diaphragm with ultra-low distortion levels and an extended frequency response.
Rinaro Isodynamics has over three decades of expertise in planar-magnetic technology. Buyers can expect lush, airy vocals and agile bass.
By drafting flagship-level drivers into a more user-friendly form factor, Meze has effectively created headphones that bridge the gap between high-end performance and everyday listenability.
Rinaro Isodynamics has over three decades of expertise in planar-magnetic technology…
Of course, Meze Audio’s attention to detail extends beyond acoustics.
The flexible titanium alloy headband is designed to evenly distribute weight, preventing pressure points and enhancing long-listening comfort. Magnetic ear pads allow for seamless swapping. POET headphones are also fully serviceable, with replaceable components designed for years of use.
The headphones ship with a premium hand-braided copper cable. There’s no wireless support.
“From the very beginning of our POET journey, we knew we wanted to create something unique, a more compact planar-magnetic open-back headphone that is every bit as capable as our flagship models,” says Alex Grigoras, Acoustic Engineer at Meze Audio.
“In collaboration with our friends at Rinaro Isodynamics, we synthesised the essence of ELITE’s driver technology and gave it new life.”
Available now, Meze Audio POET headphones sell for £1,850 ($2,000 / €2,000).
