NYX Hotel London Holborn review: A glamorous playground in the heart of the city

Glamorous, quirky, and full of surprises: we’ve found a London hotel that’s as much a destination as the city itself – and it’s shot to the top of our favourites in the city. The NYX Hotel London Holborn combines bold design, luxurious comfort, and an electric atmosphere to create a stay to remember.

Nestled in the middle of vibrant Holborn, the design hotel is perfectly placed for exploring London’s iconic landmarks, with the British Museum, Covent Garden, and Soho all within walking distance.

NYX Hotel London – Checking in

From the moment you arrive, NYX Holborn sets the tone for an experience as glamorous as it is fun. Guests are greeted with gorgeous modern design and a welcome glass of fizz to start their stay off in style.

The lobby is a feast for the eyes, with colourful modern art sculptures, bold lighting, and quirky touches to discover, not least the hotel’s free photo booth and a retro popcorn cart – both of which we made full use of.

These playful elements are more than just décor – they set the stage for a hotel experience that’s vibrant and dynamic.

With its bold personality and glamorous vibe, NYX Holborn feels like a slice of Las Vegas-style luxury right in the heart of London. The design is unapologetically modern, blending statement art pieces with sleek, high-end finishes.

NYX Hotel London – The rooms

The hotel’s 213 rooms and suites are where the glamour truly shines. Sleek black furnishings, marble and gold accents, and oversized art pieces make every space feel chic.

However, nothing could be more inviting than the room’s plush white beds complete with feather and down bedding – and a bespoke ‘Dream’ bed designed exclusively for the hotel, no less. Many rooms boast spectacular views of London – a rather special extra touch that makes this a perfect staycation choice.

Thoughtful touches like mini Smeg fridges, Nespresso machines, and even art in the bathroom ensure every stay is as comfortable, stylish and indulgent. Though it sits in a prime location in London’s West End, you’d be forgiven for choosing a night in here.

NYX Hotel London – Dining and drinks

Midtown, the hotel’s bar and restaurant, found on the ground floor named after its prime central location, makes for a vibrant hub where the hotel’s lively personality continues to shine.

Accompanied by a side of excellent service, the all-day menu offers everything from elevated bar fare to Asian fusion dishes. Highlights include the dangerously moreish fruity Lady Gaga cocktail, a favourite among hen parties, we’re told, and the decadent burger menu, of which The Cowboy burger proves a standout.

For us, small plates such as the cauliflower zaataar served with tahini yoghurt and the salt and pepper squid are also highlights – the perfect bar bites to accompany some rather brilliant hand-crafted cocktails here.

Playtime is just getting started here – the restaurant is also equipped with retro arcade machines to try your hand at. Killer cocktails and classic cabinets? Now that’s an adult playground we can get behind.

At dusk, the space truly comes alive, with chic mood lighting giving way to resident DJs on the decks and the perfect setting to indulge in a little more of everything the bar has to offer.

NYX Hotel London – Relaxation and wellness

For a change of pace, the hotel’s Rena Spa offers a tranquil retreat. The 13-meter Greco-Roman pool is a showstopper, surrounded by dramatic black-and-white tiles that add to the hotel’s glamorous aesthetic. With a sauna, steam room, and treatment suites, the spa here caters to every wellness need.

The hotel also features a fully equipped fitness center, complete with yoga and Pilates classes.

NYX Hotel London – Location

The NYX Hotel’s prime Holborn location is one of its standout features. Guests can easily explore some of London’s most popular attractions, including the British Museum, just a short stroll away.

The vibrant shops, theatres, and restaurants of Covent Garden are within walking distance, while the buzzing nightlife of Soho is close enough for an evening out. For those looking to venture further, Holborn Underground Station is right around the corner, providing excellent connectivity across London. Of course, if you simply fancied enjoying a night in here, you’d be forgiven, too.

NYX Hotel London – The verdict

With its quirky design, unapologetically Las Vegas-style glamour and lively atmosphere, the NYX Hotel London Holborn isn’t just a place to stay – it’s an experience brimming with surprises.

Where many upscale hotels in London lean into pomp and heritage, the NYX Hotel London Holborn embraces a youthful, playful vibe that’s a delight to stay in – and just as high-end. Whether you’re exploring London or looking for a chic city escape, this hotel offers glamour and fun in equal measure – for a stay just as bold and dynamic as the city itself.
