Hit stage musical Wicked has just passed a magic milestone at the Apollo Victoria Theatre London, with its 7,000th performance, and released 550,000 new tickets in celebration which see the show extend bookings through January 4, 2026.

The enchanting show, which tells the untold backstory of the Witches of Oz, is now the 10th longest-running production in West End history.

Since its London debut in 2006, Wicked has become a staple of London’s West End, captivating over 12 million theatregoers and garnering over 100 global awards.

Based on Gregory Maguire’s best-selling novel, the stage show reimagines the beloved characters from L. Frank Baum’s classic The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, exploring the lives of two unlikely friends, Elphaba and Glinda, before they became the infamous Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good.

The score by Stephen Schwartz, known for hits like Godspell and Disney’s Enchanted, and a book by Winnie Holzman, creator of My So-Called Life, have made it a global sensation.

New performances and extended run

In addition to extending its booking period, Wicked has announced the addition of ten extra performances, including special holiday shows in December 2025, ensuring fans have even more opportunities to experience the magic.

These additional performances include festive dates such as Monday, December 22 at 7:30 PM and a double show on Monday, December 29 at 2:30 PM and 7:30 PM.

Regular showtimes will continue from Tuesday to Saturday at 7:30 PM, with matinee performances on Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday at 2:30 PM. Tickets for these extended dates, as well as exclusive group and trade tickets for performances up until May 31, 2026, are already on sale, promising plenty of chances for fans and newcomers alike to witness the wonder of Wicked.
