Ninja has moved into the highly competitive coffee maker market with the Ninja Luxe Café range, unveiling the line at the IFA technology show in Berlin.
With three models, the Essential, Premier, and Pro, Ninja aims to elevate the home brewing experience, offering everything from espresso to filter coffee and cold brew, from a single machine.
As consumers continue to seek café-quality coffee at home, the company, one half of the Shark Ninja family, expects this new range will find swift favour with its combination of sleek design, user-friendly features, and versatile brewing options.
Within 24 hours of the first Luxe Café espresso machine going on pre-order in the US, the brand had been swamped with orders and had to close off its waitlist.
The introduction of Ninja Luxe Café signals a significant shift in the at-home espresso machine market. This 3-in-1 system allows coffee lovers to brew espresso, filter coffee, and cold brew, all in one machine. We were first in line to try the new machines out…
Ninja Luxe Café: Three models, one mission
The first point to note is that the Ninja Luxe Café range is designed to cater to a wide variety of coffee preferences, from espresso aficionados to filter coffee enthusiasts. It’s not just for experienced at-home baristas.
The entry level Ninja Luxe Café Essential offers core features for those who want a solid, dependable coffee maker. The 3-in-1 functionality allows users to brew espresso, filter coffee, and cold brew. While the Essential doesn’t include some of the more advanced features found in the higher-end models, it still offers Ninja’s signature ease of use, making it ideal for casual coffee drinkers.
The Ninja Luxe Café Premier is a step up from the Essential, introducing Shark Ninja’s Barista Assist Technology, which takes the guesswork out of brewing. This model recommends the perfect grind size, adjusts pressure and temperature during the brewing process, and even fine-tunes these recommendations for future brews based on your preferences.
With a Hands-Free Dual Froth system, the Premier also allows for hands-free frothing of hot or cold milk, creating textured microfoam for lattes and cappuccinos, whether you’re using dairy or plant-based milk.
The top-of-the-line model, the Ninja Luxe Café Pro, includes all of the features of the Premier, but with additional customisation options and enhanced functionality. The Pro is designed for coffee enthusiasts who want complete control over their brew, from single shots to quad shots, and a range of brew sizes from 170ml to 530ml.
It also offers a cold-pressed espresso option, which is brewed at a lower temperature and pressure for a smoother, flavourful experience. This is ideal for creating sophisticated drinks like espresso martinis or refreshing iced coffees.
The Dual Froth System found in the Premier and Pro combines steaming and whisking to create the perfect microfoam for lattes, cappuccinos, and more. And with its hands-free operation, users can froth milk while brewing, making the process faster and more efficient.
The Luxe Review was on hand at IFA for the launch, and was impressed by the functionality and premium design of the three units. The Ninja Luxe Café’s sleek design is a major selling point, with its stainless-steel finish and intuitive interface. A compact footprint ensures it won’t take up valuable kitchen counter space.
The Ninja Luxe Café range makes a point of being bean agnostic, and will work with whatever you feed them. I was particularly impressed with the brand’s Barista Assist technology, which should help users craft café-quality beverages with precision, the machine automatically adjusting to ensure the perfect cup every time.
The provision of Cold Brewing also opens the doors to cocktail bar quality espresso martinis – I can certainly vouch for their deliciousness, having sampled several at a celebratory shindig at the The Curtain Club, the Berlin Ritz-Carlton’s resident cocktail bar, where the beverage was in high demand.
Introducing the Ninja Sip Perfect travel mug
In addition to its inaugural coffee machines, Shark Ninja has also introduced the Ninja Sip Perfect travel mug, a new range of drinkware designed to enhance the at-home and on-the-go coffee experience.
Launched alongside the Luxe Café machines, the Sip Perfect mug uses novel HeatStore technology to rapidly cool hot drinks to a drinkable temperature and maintain that temperature for hours.
Available in two sizes, 300ml and 400ml,and five stylish colours (white, black, green, navy, and stone), the Sip Perfect mugs will suit commuters and those simply enjoying a leisurely walk.
The LockLeak lid ensures no spills or drips, thanks to its secure latch that opens with the press of a button. It can also be used to keep cold drinks refreshingly cool for hours.
The first Ninja Luxe Café machines to launch in the UK will be the Premier and Essential models, which will sell for £449 and £549 respectively. The high-end Pro model will follow in 2025, priced at £599.
