Do bikers dream of electric motorcycles?
Verge is also opening its first U.S. stores in Los Angeles and San Jose, California. The company says California is the perfect place in North America to begin the rollout of consumer retail outlets.
The first store will open at Westfield Century City Shopping Center in Los Angeles on June 1. Verge’s second store will open at Westfield Valley Fair Mall in San Jose on June 6.
These experiential showrooms will present the Verge brand and lifestyle; test rides will be available this summer.
“The United States is one of our most important markets, and the majority of pre-orders for the bikes in the USA have come specifically from the California area. Local consumers are known to value exciting innovations and they are eager to try new things”, says COO of Verge Motorcycles in the United States Pekka Parnanen.
Verge Motorcycles software updates
In November 2023, at the LA Auto Show, Verge launched its new Starmatter platform, which brings software updates, sensor technology, artificial intelligence and an advanced user interface to motorcycling for the first time.
Earlier this year, at CES in Las Vegas, Verge also announced an update to its flagship TS Ultra model with Starmatter Vision features, including multiple cameras and high-resolution radar, making it the first motorcycle equipped with the sense of sight.
The mastermind behind the Finnish electric motorcycle brand’s international retail strategy is tech visionary George Blankenship, who was instrumental in developing Apple and Tesla’s highly successful showrooms.
“I see the same potential in Verge as I did at Apple two decades ago and Tesla one decade ago when those companies set out to completely redefine their industries,” he says. “I want Verge to be positioned wherever lots of people are spending time on a regular basis finding new things they might be surprised to see, and Westfield London is the perfect place to do so.”
