Ghostwatch: Spinnaker and Seconde Seconde conjure spooky Fleuss Automatic 50 Phantoms dive watch

The Spinnaker Halloween watch on a not very scary wrist

Halloween meets horology, as Spinnaker partners with Paris-based watch customiser, Seconde Seconde, to create an exclusive ghostly version of its iconic Fleuss Automatic dive watch

Seconde Seconde, the brainchild of Romaric André, has attracted world-wide attention by modifying timepieces with humour and precision.  Seconde Seconde was born of André’s fascination with vintage watches, which led to him transforming ordinary timepieces into highly collectable, artistic creations.

The new 50 Phantoms timepiece marries Spinnaker dive watch elegance with typical Seconde Seconde humour.

The dial on the Seconde Seconde Fleuss displays 50 Phantoms, literally 50 custom-moulded ghosts, on the dial. The sapphire lens provides a crystal-clear view of the spooks as they hover above the face.

The watch comes into its own in the dark, when the ghosts begin to glow – the phantoms have been generously coated with Swiss Super-Lumi Nova. The rotor and the leather strap stitching also have luminous detailing.

The caseback sports a single ghost that offers a peek into the watch’s inner workings.

The stainless-steel case, 43mm in diameter, incorporates a unidirectional turning bezel with hardened glass. The timepiece features a NH38 Japanese automatic movement, water resistance is 15 ATM.

This fun special edition is available in two themed variants, Phantom Black and Phantom Grey. Each comes with a leather strap, plus an additional rubber strap.

Limited to only 670 pieces worldwide, the Spinnaker Fleuss Automatic Seconde Seconde Limited Edition go on sale November 3 at Spinnaker watches, priced at £450.

The range expands next year with the introduction of new, non limited Phantom Blue editions of the Fifty Phantoms collection. Currently available for pre-order, priced at US$370, these will be delivered March 2024.
