Aston Martin has launched its new DB12 sports car with a glittering premiere at the Cannes International Film Festival.  The grand Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc provided the prestige backdrop for the high performance newcomer.

The car was unveiled by Aston Martin Aramco Cognizant Formula One Team drivers Lance Stroll and Fernando Alonso.

Heralded as the world’s first Super Tourer, the next-gen sportster boasts a top speed of 202 mph and class leading power output of 680PS/800Nm, from a 4.0 V8 Twin-Turbo engine.

In celebration of Aston Martin’s 110th anniversary, 110 celebrity guests were invited to the unveiling, which was accompanied by live performances from singer and actress Rina Sawayama, and international DJ Peggy Gou.

Leonardo Di Caprio, star of film festival favourite Killers of Flower Moon, was joined by Catherine Zeta-Jones, Michael Douglas, Kate Beckinsale, Tobey Maguire, James Marsden and Jeffrey Wright.

Other celebrities in attendance included Queen Latifah, Queen frontman Adam Lambert and models Winnie Harlow, Lais Ribeiro, Alessandra Ambrosio and Poppy Delevingne.

Lawrence Stroll, Executive Chairman of Aston Martin, said of the launch: “The DB12 marks not just the start of our next generation of sports cars, but also a key step forward in our vision to establish Aston Martin as the world’s most desirable British ultra-luxury performance brand.”
