New Disney+ featurette sets the scene for Star Wars The Mandalorian Season 3

Streaming mouse house Disney+ has dropped a behind the scenes featurette for the third season of The Mandalorian, along with new poster art. The creative team Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, Rick Famuyiwa comment on the success of the show and hint at what’s to come.

The hit live-action SF series from Lucasfilm, will begin March 1. 

The series follows the journey of the titular character Din Djarin, the Mandalorian, and Grogu (aka Baby Yoda) as they continue their travels through the Star Wars galaxy. 

The Season 3 cast includes Pedro Pascal, Katee Sackhoff, Carl Weathers, Amy Sedaris, Emily Swallow and Giancarlo Esposito. The directors of the eight-episode season  include Rick Famuyiwa, Rachel Morrison, Lee Isaac Chung, Carl Weathers, Peter Ramsey and Bryce Dallas Howard.

Star Wars: Visions Season 2 launch date

In related news, the Disney+ and Lucasfilm have confirmed that the second season of  animated anthology series Star Wars: Visions will premiere on May 4, 2023. The collection will feature nine new shorts from various studios, and showcase a wide variety of animation styles.

The shorts included in Star Wars: Visions Volume 2 have been created by El Guiri (Spain), Cartoon Saloon (Ireland), Punkrobot (Chile), Aardman (United Kingdom), Studio Mir (South Korea) Studio La Cachette (France), 88 Pictures (India), D’art Shtajio (Japan), and Triggerfish (South Africa). D’Art Shtajio’s short was created in collaboration with Lucasfilm. (United States).
