Wheel estate: Aston Martin designs first ultra-luxury home in Japan and it’s stunning

The wine cellar is the Aston Martin Japan luxury home

Premium British automobile manufacturer Aston Martin has turned its luxury design sights on Asia, partnering with Japanese concierge specialist VIBROA, to create a jaw-dropper of a private home.

№ 001 Minami Aoyama is located in Tokyo’s upmarket Omotesando area, itself a hot spot for architecture and style.

The Aston Martin designed ultra-luxury residence features a spectacular sports car gallery, wine cellar, home cinema, gym, and private spa. Aston Martin is responsible for the interior styling of the property, even down to the designer furniture choices, and worked with a local architect on the dramatic exterior.

It makes even the slick digs used for Japanese reality TV show Terrace House look dowdy.

The four-storey home, with roof terrace offering spectacular views of surrounding Tokyo, has already been sold to a private buyer.

It’s Aston Martin’s first real estate design collaboration in Asia, and follows successful projects in the United States, including the Sylvan Rock private residential estate and Aston Martin Residences in Miami, now 97 per cent sold out ahead of the waterfront tower’s scheduled opening in summer 2023.

Marek Reichman, Executive Vice President and Chief Creative Officer of Aston Martin said: “The influence of Tokyo culture, with its amazing history and style, holds an important creative space within our design studio. I see fashion, architectural and even culinary references being considered by our team when developing their work, so its presence can really be felt within our practice.

“We thought we would return the favour through our first ultra-luxury collaboration in Asia with VIBROA by tailoring our Aston Martin real estate design principles specifically to the No. 001 Minami property.”

Reichman says the design studio has “catered to the senses, using a holistic combination of elements and materials to create a calm and relaxing space for them to retreat”.

The design partnership is indicative of Aston Martin’s wider strategic growth plans in Japan, where it sees huge ‘Designed by Aston Martin’ commercial potential.
