Luxury audio outfit Bang & Olufsen has collaborated with celebrated street artist Fin DAC, to produce a limited edition of its iconic Beosound A9 speaker. It’s the latest in a line of high profile collaborations between the Hi-Fi company and the creative community.
Fin DAC is best known for exploring themes related to female emancipation and empowerment. Reflecting his urban aesthetic, the artwork features a powerful masked woman rendered in Fin DAC’s signature spray paint style.
Speaking about the project, Fin DAC commented “The limited-edition A9’s image is something for which I’ve been known for many years now: an Asian woman in traditional clothing with elaborate hair and a fierce or defiant stare. My approach is always to not depict women in an objectifying way and to hopefully show their strength through their gaze.”
As we’ve seen from Bang & Olufsen before, there’s eye-catching attention to detail. Reflecting the colour palette used by the artist, the A9’s rear leg has been finished in the same turquoise as the subject’s mask, while anodized brass aluminium has been applied to the speaker rim.
This iteration of the circular speaker comes with a decal of Fin DAC’s signature, and a signed and numbered collector’s limited-edition print of the speaker artwork.

Irish-born artist Fin DAC brings his urban aesthetic to the Beosound A9 smart speaker
“Bang & Olufsen is one of the most renowned brands of the late 20th and 21st centuries with a definitive Scandinavian style and design… a collaborative opportunity like this had to be jumped at” said the artist.
Fin DAC X Bang & Olufsen is the latest in an arty range of collaborations. Other limited editions include work from French graphic designer Alexis Jamet, who uses airbrush tools to create abstract digital forms and digital creator Manon Cezaro.
And what of the canvas itself? Now in its fourth generation, the Beosound A9 is a high-end smart speaker, with 1500 watts of digital amplification on tap. It can stand on its three wooden legs, or be hung like a piece of art. Features include Chromecast built-in, AirPlay 2, Bluetooth, and multiroom audio support. It also responds to Google Assistant voice control.
Not in the mood for talking? The speaker rim offers subtle touch control, to adjust volume and control music.
Only 30 Fin DAC X Bang & Olufsen A9 speakers will be made available, priced at £3,999 apiece. Ordering details are available on the Bang & Olufsen website.
