The Hotel New York in Disneyland Paris has had a Mighty Marvel makeover. Guests arriving from June 21 will find themselves surrounded by a treasure trove of art from Marvel comics and movies.
The collection includes original comic book covers, movie posters, storyboards, and concept sketches. Guests will see a huge diversity of styles, including classic comic book pages, street art, pop art, hyperrealism, engraved metal and collages.
The lobby is distinguished by backlit black and white comic panels, created by Spanish artist Carlos Gomez, along with life-size Iron Man suits and Captain America shields.
The Disneyland Paris theme park is set to reopen June 17, with the Marvel themed hotel following on June 21.

The four star New York offers 471 Superior Rooms, 65 Empire State Club rooms and 25 Suites dedicated to Spider-Man, the Avengers or other Marvel characters.
Those staying at one of the 65 Empire State Club room or 25 suites will enjoy additional premium services, such as a separate private reception desk, free valet service and access to the Empire State Lounge, a private lounge area for breakfast and day-long access to drinks and snacks.
The Art of Marvel Presidential Suites promise a taste of Tony Stark’s playboy lifestyle, while the 25 suites are devoted to Spider-Man (the ceiling design has a web motif), Avengers and other heroes with exclusive art pieces and detailing. Even the bathrobes and slippers are themed.
The opening follows a similar refurbishment of the Hotel Santa Fe, which now has a Cars theme, and the addition of Woody and Jessy from Toy Story to Hotel Cheyenne.
The Hotel New York The Art of Marvel features the largest collection of original Marvel art in the world.
UK artist Liam Brazier has created several pieces for the hotel, including contemporary portraits of Captain America, Thor and Hulk.
French artist Olivier Coipel contributes a representation of Thor. Italian designers and twin brothers Van Orton, embrace a pop art style for portraits of Hulk, Captain America, Black Panther and Captain Marvel.
French artist Stéphanie Hans contributes a portrait of Captain Marvel, while the UK’s Tula Lotay has created a comic-book style Black Widow, iconic black costume contrasting with a bright expressionistic background.
Of particular interest to comic art aficionados is The Jack Kirby Legacy Gallery, which features a permanent exhibition dedicated to Jack Kirby, the visionary artist who co-created the original Marvel universe with Stan Lee. 21 original covers by ‘The King’ are on display.
The hotel boutique has also been reimagined as a museum shop where guests can purchase reproductions of some of the Marvel artwork displayed in the hotel. Directly inspired by Tony Stark’s iconic Wall Of Armour, it’s a one-stop shop for figurines, art books and exclusive comics.
Dining choices include the Manhattan restaurant, which serves traditional Italian dishes, the buffest style Downtown, where meals are prepared in front of guests, and the Skyline cocktail bar.
