Marantz says its new 12 Series Special Edition stereo amplifier and SACD player offer music lovers the highest of fidelity.
The original SA-12 and PM-12 amp and CD player combo were only released on Japanese market, but they were quickly identified by the brand’s in-house audio specialists as deserving of the Special Edition treatment.
Special Editions of Hi-Fi components are released when select models are chosen to benefit from additional refinement with component upgrades and time consuming tuning. This particular pair were gifted technologies first seen on the brand’s celebrated PM-10 series and KI Ruby Limited Edition.

The Marantz 12 Series Special Editions available in black or champagne
The PM-12 Special Edition stereo integrated amplifier features meticulous build quality and includes a high quality phono stage for vinyl turntable enthusiasts. Power output is 100W per channel into 8ohm speakers.
The partnering SA-12 Special Edition disc player similarly takes inspiration from the Marantz SA-10 and the SA-KI Ruby model. It can play SACDs and CDs, as well as High-Res audio files, including PCM/DXD 384kHz/32bit and DSD11.2MHz.
A proprietary Musical Mastering system transforms all PCM file formats to DSD format, and then converts them directly into an analogue signal without the use of a conventional digital-to-analogue converter.
The Marantz PM-12SE and SA-12SE are available from September, in Europe and the UK only, priced at £2,999 each.
