Koenigsegg Gemera mega GT to make UK debut at Salon Privé 2020 supercar show

The Koenigsegg Gemera ‘mega GT’ will make its UK debut at this year’s Salon Privé Week. The brand’s first four-seat model, the supercar tourer boasts a host of next-generation environmental technologies, and can power four people (and their holiday luggage) from 0-100kph in 1.9 seconds.

The Gemera’s two-litre, three-cylinder engine has been dubbed ‘Tiny Friendly Giant’  or TFG for short, and is able to run on conventional petrol as well as CO2-neutral renewable fuels.

The all-new Gemera is the brand’s first four-seat model, and comes with a host of next-generation environmental technologies…

The Gemera has a surprisingly spacious interior

Complemented by three electric motors, the combined powertrain gives a total output of 1700bhp, with 3500Nm of torque. It drives through the patented single-gear Koenigsegg Direct Drive (KDD) transmission. A lightweight 800V battery enables the Gemera to run purely on electricity for up to 50 kilometres. There’s an additional 950 km to be had at highway cruise speed in hybrid mode.

The Gemera is based around a carbon fibre monocoque and features six smart airbags, stability control, traction control, ABS and ADAS 2.5.

Gotta love that carbon fibre monocoque

“More and more premium brands are choosing Salon Privé to launch new models,” says Salon Privé  Director David Bagley. “This year is shaping up to be one of the most spectacular gatherings of hypercars and supercars ever held, and we have no doubt that the unique Gemera will play a central role in that.”
