StarzPlay has announced a UK streaming date for Doom Patrol season 2. The spin-off from DC’s Titans (confusingly on Netflix) will land exclusively on the service July 16.
We’re getting three episodes on launch day, and then new episodes drop weekly after that.
Based on the classic oddball superhero comic, featuring characters created for DC by Arnold Drake, Bob Haney and Bruno Premiani, features Robotman aka Cliff Steele (played by Brendan Fraser), Negative Man aka Larry Trainor (Matt Bomer), Elasti-Woman aka Rita Farr (April Bowlby) and Crazy Jane (Diane Guerrero), led by modern-day mad scientist Niles Caulder aka The Chief (Timothy Dalton).
Each member of the Doom Patrol suffered a horrible accident which led to their superhuman abilities, but also left them scarred and disfigured. The second season picks up exactly where season one left off (no spoilers, recap redacted).
It’s executive produced by Jeremy Carver (Supernatural, Frequency), Geoff Johns (Titans, Batwoman), Greg Berlanti (Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl), Sarah Schechter (Riverdale) and Chris Dingess (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Agent Carter).
StarzPlay is available on Prime Video Channels, Apple TV, Virgin Media, Roku and Rakuten.
