Calling all nature lovers! Swarovski Optik, the Austrian binocular and spotting scope specialist, has introduced the dG (digital guide), a novel long-range monocular optical device with integrated 13MP camera and Wi-Fi, that allows nature enthusiasts to observe and catalogue birds and animals in the wild.
The innovative gizmo promises to revolutionise the discovery and identification of birds as easy as possible thanks to a combination of high quality optics and pioneering connected technology.
Swarovski Optik dG for the smarter Twitcher
After utilising the 8x magnification power of the dG to locate birds and mammals, users can digitally document images and videos of their spot via an integrated, high-resolution camera.
At the push of a button, images and videos can be transferred to a smartphone and automatically identified by the Merlin Bird ID app, or the dG Mammals app, which cleverly provides information about any species spotted.
Social birders can also use the Swarovski Optik dG app to share their discoveries via the device’s integrated Wi-Fi hotspot, which allows up to five other users within a five metre range to live stream sightings on their own device.
