If there was ever a day to upgrade lunch, this is probably it.
For World Lobster Day today, Friday 25 September, Burger & Lobster is bringing back its brilliantly simple ‘Bring A Mate, Get A Plate’ offer – meaning diners can buy one main and get a second on the house.
Yes, that includes their iconic lobster.
The deal runs across Burger & Lobster restaurants, with the lowest-priced main deducted from the bill. On the menu are the brand’s signature Lobster Roll (£36), warm Connecticut Roll (£36), B&L Combo (£37), Lobster Combo (£38) and, for anyone keen to go all in, a Whole Lobster for £40, served steamed or grilled with fries, salad and a sauce of your choice.
Burger & Lobster’s Signature Lobster Roll is included in the deal
In other words, this is a pretty good time to find that friend who has somehow made it through life without trying lobster.
Bookings and walk-ins are available from midday until 6pm, before restaurants switch to walk-ins only for the evening.
And Burger & Lobster is leaning fully into the occasion.
At its Leicester Square and Threadneedle Street restaurants, diners can also have a go on The Claw, a new lobster-themed claw machine created for World Lobster Day. Every diner gets one attempt after their meal, with prizes ranging from free cocktails and lobster croquettes to complimentary mains on a future visit and Burger & Lobster merch.
Burger & Lobster is celebrating World Lobster Day all week
It follows a week of lobster-related activity across London and Brighton, including Burger & Lobster’s familiar red bikes taking to the streets to hand out free mini lobster rolls.
The appetite is clearly there. More than 15,500 people have taken part in Burger & Lobster’s World Lobster Day celebrations over the past two years, while more than 4,000 whole lobsters were served on the day in 2025 alone.
There’s a charitable element, too. An additional £1 from every bill today will be donated to the National Lobster Hatchery, supporting conservation work designed to protect and replenish native lobster populations around the UK coastline.
Burger & Lobster has always built its appeal around two things: keeping the menu relatively simple, and making lobster feel considerably less intimidating than its fine-dining reputation might suggest.
Throw in a free plate and a claw machine, and suddenly Friday lunch is looking rather more interesting.
Burger & Lobster’s Bring A Mate, Get A Plate offer runs on Friday 25 September 2026. Bookings and walk-ins are available from 12pm – 6pm, with walk-ins only after 6pm.
Glenmorangie has released its oldest-ever whisky, a 50 year old single malt made with some of the last batches of barley malted in the distillery’s own floor maltings before they were decommissioned in 1977. The whisky is limited to 149 bottles, each presented in a bespoke porcelain vessel created by American ceramic artist Peter Pincus.…
There’s something pleasingly unexpected about finding one of Holborn’s most colourful dining rooms hiding inside a hotel. Midtown Bar & Dining, tucked inside NYX Hotel London Holborn, is not interested in the typical anonymous hotel-restaurant beige. Instead, think velvet seats, glossy interiors, vibrant art, statement lighting and floor-to-ceiling windows which cry out for Central London…
There’s no mistaking what you’ll get when you uncork the latest whisky release from Compass Box. Pointedly named This is a 10-Year-Old Whisky, this limited-edition blend puts the exact age and provenance of every whisky in the bottle front and centre. Made from three single malts, the expression brings together Clynelish, peated Ardnamurchan and unpeated…
