The Whisky Exchange has unveiled a new limited whisky range inspired by the twelve signs of the Zodiac, following the conclusion of its Seasons Series in 2024–25. The first whiskies in the series – Pisces, Aries, Taurus and Gemini – supposedly reflect the character traditionally associated with each star sign – they’re also tailor made for gifting.
Curated by The Whisky Exchange Buying Director Dawn Davies, working alongside own-label product manager Chris Bolton, the complete series will be released in three collectable sets. Bespoke artwork has been created by Jenna Morse of The Whisky Exchange design team.
While astrology provides the framework, our focus remains firmly on the liquid itself, with all four initial releases drawn from individual casks and bottled at natural strength.
The complete series will be released in three collectable sets, each featuring an air, water, earth and fire sign…
Matured in second-fill oloroso sherry casks, the Highland single malt is a coastal-leaning Glenglassaugh selected to echo the sign’s association with the sea, creativity and intuition. Bottled at 55.4% ABV, the whisky boasts a maritime character, with notes of sea spray layered alongside fresh and dried fruit. Gentle spice from the sherry cask adds structure without overwhelming the distillery character.
For Aries, The Whisky Exchange has chosen a peated expression of Bunnahabhain, bottled under the Staoisha name. This Islay offering is bold and assertive, with smoky bacon and burning grass leading into orchard fruit and spice. Roasted nuts and singed caramel follow, creating a robust and forward style that barrels forward like its namesake ram. ABV is 53.7%.
The Taurus release comes from Speyside distillery Dailuaine. Despite its youth, the whisky is described as rich and layered, with sweet toffee and caramel at the fore, supported by roasted nuts, warm vanilla and gradually emerging orchard fruit. It’s bottled at a bovine 61% ABV.
Finally, Gemini’s duality is reflected in this mature Ardmore, where contrasting elements sit side by side. Bottled at 50.4% ABV, bright citrus and orchard fruit are balanced against malty biscuit notes and a fragrant, earthy smoke. The result is a Highland whisky that shifts between styles, a surprise in the glass.
The Pisces, Aries, Taurus and Gemini bottlings are available now, exclusively from The Whisky Exchange, both online and in-store.
The remaining Zodiac whiskies will be released over the coming year, allowing collectors and enthusiasts to follow the full calendar of signs.
