Numarine has released fresh details of its new 40MXP, a 40-metre superyacht designed to bring a little Mediterranean luxury to the long-range explorer category. Multiple builds are underway, with two deliveries scheduled for 2026.
The name says a lot: MXP stands for Mediterranean Explorer, signalling a shift toward open-air living and sociable deck spaces, while keeping the capable explorer DNA of Numarine’s XP line.
With naval architecture by Umberto Tagliavini and exterior styling by Can Yalman, the boat combines purposeful ocean-going engineering with a breezier, lifestyle-led design approach.
The vertical bow and large windows remain signature XP touches, but the hull has been lengthened to create more generous aft spaces.
The 40MXP blends sturdy ocean-going engineering with a breezier, lifestyle-led design approach…
A luxury lifestyle twist on the classic explorer yacht
At the centre of the yacht’s design is an expanded aft deck that acts as its main social hub. This area stretches full-beam and includes a large outdoor dining space, a bar, relaxed lounge seating and a pool with a glass transom.
From here, guests can step straight down to the hydraulic swim platform and the eight-metre full-beam beach club, prime real estate for sunbathing, sea-level lounging and toy-time.
Up top, a huge flybridge grants more open lounging and dining space, while the tender deck can accommodate a 9-metre tender, two full-size jet skis and additional water toys.
True to its explorer roots, the 40MXP boasts a 6,000-nautical-mile range at 8 knots and comes with MAN 800hp engines as standard, with the option to upgrade to MAN 900hp for added capability.
Noise and vibration reduction systems developed with Silent Line ensure quieter passages on longer cruises.
Inside, the yacht leans into Numarine’s fondness for light and volume. The 40MXP sleeps up to 12 guests across six staterooms, including a full-beam master suite on the main deck. Interiors are fully customised for each owner; the first 40MXP features bright, contemporary spaces framed by expansive windows and uninterrupted views.
Numarine says the aim is to deliver a craft able to cross oceans confidently, yet be open and comfortable enough for long summer days at anchor. The approach appears to be resonating.
“The 40MXP has already been met with enthusiasm from the market,” says Chairman Ömer Malaz, noting interest from both loyal XP owners and newcomers looking for something that blends range, robustness and contemporary style.
