Rolls-Royce has unveiled the one-of-one Phantom Dragon, a bespoke luxury vehicle that artfully blends traditional Chinese dragon motifs with the brand’s signature craftsmanship.
Curated by the Private Office Shanghai, this extraordinary creation marks the beginning of the centenary celebrations for the iconic Phantom nameplate and underscores Rolls-Royce‘s connection to the East Asian market.
Commissioned by a Chinese client, the Phantom Dragon is distinguished by the Gallery, which spans the full width of the fascia. Crafted from 297 individual pieces using four distinct wood species, the marquetry artwork captures two dragons swirling through clouds, guarding a central pearl embodied by the Bespoke clock.

All this intricate craftsmanship took an artisan at the home of Rolls-Royce three months to complete. Smoked Eucalyptus forms the base layer, while Sycamore veneer outlines, Ash burr accents, and Black Bolivar veneer shadows create an illusion of depth and movement.
The luxurious cabin continues the theme with a stunning Starlight Headliner, showcasing an abstract representation of two dragons interacting with a pearl.
It comprises 768 red and 576 white fiber-optic lights, meticulously hand-fitted, with 24 shooting stars enhancing the dramatic effect.
The interior is adorned with Ardent Red and black leather upholstery, with the front and rear Serenity seats featuring a harmonious contrast. The client’s family name is embroidered onto the headrests in ancient Chinese calligraphy, using contrasting cotton thread for a personalized touch. Additional woodwork in high gloss Smoked Eucalyptus and Canadel door panels further amplify the sophistication of the space.
Performance and technical excellence
Beneath all this exquisite craftsmanship lies Rolls-Royce’s hallmark technical prowess. The Phantom Dragon is powered by a 6.75-liter twin-turbocharged V12 engine, delivering effortless performance and whisper-quiet refinement.
The vehicle’s extended wheelbase ensures a supremely comfortable ride, enhanced by the brand’s cutting-edge suspension system that glides over any road surface with grace.
The Phantom Dragon is finished in a breathtaking Iced Diamond Black exterior, which achieves a signature shimmering satin effect that exudes understated elegance.
This unique paintwork perfectly complements the car’s commanding presence, ensuring it stands out as a singular work of automotive art.
Martina Starke, Head of Bespoke Design at Rolls-Royce, stated, “This magnificent Phantom Extended is a testament to the skills and creativity of our Bespoke designers, engineers, and craftspeople. It showcases our ability to sensitively interpret cultural iconography while maintaining the brand’s innovative design language.”
While the price remains undisclosed, it’s expected to reflect the unparalleled craftsmanship and exclusivity that define Rolls-Royce’s Bespoke offerings.
