Pinball wizardry meets pop culture, in Stern Pinball’s Dungeons & Dragons: The Tyrant’s Eye, a high-tech pinball machine celebrating the 50th anniversary of the legendary table top role-playing game.
Making its debut at CES 2025 this week in Las Vegas, the cutting-edge pinball adventure hopes to captivate gaming enthusiasts and D&D fans alike with its immersive gameplay, cinematic design, and star-studded voice cast.
Inspired by the vast lore of Dungeons & Dragons, The Tyrant’s Eye transports players to the Forgotten Realms, where they join the Dragonshield Guild in a quest to thwart the dragon queen Tiamat’s rise during the War of Dragons. The game weaves together iconic D&D elements, including legendary creatures like Xanathar the beholder, an owlbear, and the infamous red dragon Rath the Relentless.
What really sets this arcade game apart from rivals is the A-list talent involved. It features voice performances by Michael Dorn (Star Trek: The Next Generation), Gerard Way (My Chemical Romance, The Umbrella Academy), Kevin Smith, and Matthew Mercer, among others. Composer Cris Velasco (Mass Effect 2, Bloodborne) provides the score, enhancing the machine’s cinematic allure.

Game design is outstanding, with dynamic animatronics and interactive dungeon features. Rath reacts to player actions with multi-axis motion, and omnidirectional impact sensing. Claim his treasure if you can, but fumble the ball and Rath retaliates with scorching pinballs that demand quick reflexes – and the deft use of a metal shield.
The playfield features hidden passageways, a trapdoor, and a cube that freezes balls.
Reflecting its D&D roots, an element of randomness influences the game’s narrative, with unlockable characters, items, and multiple story endings.
The Tyrant’s Eye is built on Stern Pinball’s Insider Connected platform. Players can save their progress with the PinSave System, track character experience points, enjoy campaigns cooperatively with friends, and look forward to feature updates.
Each pinball machine unit comes with a numbered plaque and a signed Certificate of Authenticity.
The Tyrant’s Eye will be available in three models: Pro, Premium, and Limited Edition, priced at $6,999, $9,699 and $1,299. There’s some difference in gameplay between the models.
For die-hard fans, the Limited Edition (LE) model, which is restricted to just 740 units worldwide, features exclusive upgrades, reflective foil decals, a full-colour mirrored back-glass, and a custom Dragon Red powder-coated finish.
Sky’s 2026 programme slate is a tantalising mix of recognisable franchises, new originals and returning favourites. Leading the content charge is A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, a new chapter in the Game of Thrones universe set a century before the events of the original series, here swapping dragons strafing armadas for a smaller show…
