LG unveils CineBeam Qube 4k projector for lifestyle-friendly big screen entertainment

An LG CineBeam Qube video projector sits alongside a candle

LG wants to change the way you view video projection, with its new CineBeam Qube. Making its debut at CES January 2024, the new Qube HU710PB is a compact, 4k projector in a minimalist,  lifestyle-friendly form factor.

Suitable for any indoor space with a convenient wall or screen, the projector features a 360-degree rotatable handle and helpful Auto Screen Adjustment, with auto-focus able to automatically optimises image placement and size. It’s very much a place and play device.

The compact model employs an RGB laser light source, and is able to project 4k UHD (3,840 x 2,160) images up to 120 inches.

Tech specs look good. LG quotes a 450,000:1 contrast ratio with 154 percent coverage of the DCI-P3 colour gamut. Brightness is rated at 500 ANSI lumens, which means you’ll need to dim the lights for the best picture performance.

Transporting the projector from room to room shouldn’t be a problem. The CineBeam Qube measures just 80 x 135 x 135 mm, and weighs a paltry 1.49kg.

The 4k projector is HDR 10 compliant, and sports an HDMI input for easy hook-up of set top boxes or games consoles.

The Qube projector also runs the LG webOS 6.0 smart platform, which offers a variety of top tier streaming services, such as Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video and YouTube, built in.

When it’s not in movie mode, it can double as an image-mapping mood light, casting digital images to enhance the ambiance of your living space.

Price and availability have yet to be confirmed, but the projector will be on demo at the LG booth at CES, which runs January 9 – 12, Las Vegas.
