Amazing LG 97-inch M3 wireless OLED 4k TV says goodbye to cable clutter

An LG 97inch Signature M3 wireless OLED TV in a fancy modern apartment. The viewer is watching a western.

LG wants to set your next TV free with a new generation of wireless OLED TVs. Using Zero Connect technology, you’ll no longer need to hook up your TV set top box, Blu-ray player or games console using awkward cables. Instead, they will connect to a Zero Connect box which can be placed anywhere in a room, up to 10m from the M3 display.

This box then beams your connect wirelessly to the TV using a proprietary data transmission that’s three times faster than a Wi-Fi 6E connection.

The only lead required by the TV is a power chord.

The first LG OLED M3 TV to launch is the brand’s premium Signature series 97M3, a huge 97-inch 4k screen. It’s now shipping in South Korea, but will come to the UK, Europe and the US this autumn.

Priced at £27,999, it’s a premium display in every sense, using the brand’s much vaunted OLED Evo panel technology.

It will be joined in September by 83- and 77-inch OLED Evo M3 models. These also use Zero Connect technology, able to deliver 4K 120Hz wirelessly with next to no latency.

All of these M3 models use LG’s Gallery Design, which allows for flush-to-wall mounting.

The Zero Connect box also takes your TV aerial feed, and has full smart TV functionality, using the webOS platform.

The Luxe Review previewed the wireless LG M3 OLED at this year’s CES show in Las Vegas, and can confirm that it delivers uncompromised sound and vision. Movies beamed to the set look no different from those played directly into the back of a TV from a player connected by HDMI.

Being wireless, the M3 OLED range opens up a host of interior design options, as there’s no need to place a cabinet or table directly near the TV. You can arrange your room space exactly as you want it.

Connectivity on the Zero Connect Box includes HDMI, USB, Ethernet LAN and Bluetooth. The box also supports Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos.

LG says this AV transmission technology was developed to aid users who want to connect their TVs to various devices and peripherals in a hassle-free way. To ensure the seamless transmission of image and sound, the box identifies the optimal transmission path and has an adjustable dial-style antenna that can be pointed at the screen’s location.

“The technical feat of the 97M3 was made with LG’s decade-long commitment to creating new customer value as a market pioneer,” says Baik Seon-pill, leader of the LG Home Entertainment Company’s Product Development Division. “As well as delivering the ultimate viewing experience on an ultra-large screen, our first-of-its-kind wireless LG Signature OLED M presents customers with a new level of freedom in arranging their living spaces.”
