Survivor, one of the world’s most successful reality TV game show formats. is coming to the BBC this autumn.
The new UK adaptation has been commissioned by BBC One and BBC iPlayer from Banijay UK company Remarkable Entertainment, with the first season comprising sixteen sixty minute episodes.
In the show, 20 people compete to become the Ultimate Survivor, surviving physical challenges and convoluted team alliances on a tropical island. The group is initially divided into two tribes, which have to go head-to-head in a series of gruelling challenges.
The losing team faces Tribal Council, where one of their members is voted off.

Survivor has seen over 50 adaptations, Survivor will see 18 contestants compete for a £100,000 cash prize and the title of Sole Survivor.
Hosted by Joel Dommett, the show is currently filming in the Dominican Republic and will air on BBC One and BBC iPlayer this autumn.
25 years old this year, Survivor will soon air its 43rd series in the US. Previous seasons of the CBS hit have been set in Borneo, Vanuatu, the Amazon, Philippines and Africa, all equally spectacular and inhospitable.
Despite its global popularity, these US editions of the show remain unaired in the UK, presumably as a consequence of rights issues. Survivor was previously adapted by ITV.
