Oppo has launched a second generation foldable flagship smartphone, the Find N2, and previewed its first flip-style smartphone, the Find N2 Flip.
Both are available in the Chinese market, but will ship globally in 2023.
Details on the Find N2 Flip phone are scant but we are promised the largest cover screen on any flip phone, particularly suitable for daily use (it can show up to six notifications at a time) and photo previews.
It has a 4300mAh battery and utilises a MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ chipset.
We know more about the Oppo Find N2. This next-gen 5G Android foldable weighs 233g, and measures just 14.6mm when closed. It features a landscape ratio inner display and full-size outer display. As seen on the original Find N model.
It also employs a second-generation Flexion Hinge (said to be 67 per cent narrower than its predecessor), resulting in a practically invisible crease.
The new Flexion Hinge uses carbon fibre and aviation grade alloy, and is constructed of 100 components, 36 fewer than the previous generation. It’s 42g lighter too. According to lab tests, the Find N2 can be folded up to 400,000 times.

The Find N2 features a new triple camera system with Hasselblad optimisation and proprietary Oppo MariSilicon X imaging NPU. It boasts a 50MP main camera with Sony IMX890 flagship sensor, a 48MP ultra-wide camera that can also be used as a macro, and a 32MP RGBW 2x telephoto camera.
The Find N2 uses a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 mobile platform, and has a chunky 4520mAh battery.
Pricing, availability and more details about the global version of the Find N2 Flip are TBA. We shouldn’t have to wait long. The company has described foldable smartphones as ‘one of the most important product strategies’ and vowed continued investment.
