The Macallan has released A Night On Earth In Scotland 2022, a limited edition single malt whisky inspired by the spirit of Hogmanay.
Part of a range celebrating different destinations, this special presentation is a collaboration with Japanese-French illustrator, and frequent Wes Anderson collaborator, Erica Dorn.
Dorn was recently in the spotlight as lead graphic artist on The French Dispatch.
Fittingly, the presentation box is brightly painted in joyful red, wintery blue and whisky amber, and illustrates the customs of Hogmanay, including the time honoured tradition of first footing.
The liquid itself is a product of The Macallan’s sherry seasoned American and European oak casks and American ex-bourbon barrels, and has a velvety mouthfeel with biscuity sweetness and notes of dried orange and spice. ABV is 43% (up from last year’s 40% edition).
