London’s iconic super club Ministry of Sound has unveiled its all-new nightlife concept – and the club has dubbed it “the most important club concept to hit Ministry of Sound in a generation.”
Sasha headlines the debut Sovereign event at Ministry of Sound
The new series, called Sovereign, will see some of the most influential electronic musicians today honoured for their contributions to music. Each event will celebrate a different artist, handpicked by Ministry of Sound’s curated panel of experts, with each DJ headlining an all-night set at the world-famous venue.
Not only will each headliner take to the stage for a special extended set, but on the night, they’ll also be presented with a bespoke, one-of-a-kind sovereign ring in recognition of their contribution to electronic music.

Heading up the debut event this weekend – and officially becoming the recipient of sovereign ring number 001 – will be progressive house hero, Sasha. Sasha’s storied career, spanning decades as both a solo artist and collaborating with John Digweed, has seen him win awards including DJ Mag’s No.1 DJ, 4 International Dance Music Awards, 4 DJ Awards and a GRAMMY nomination, to become one of the original superstar DJs.
Sasha last played Ministry of Sound in 2016 for his surprise reunion with John Digweed, now, his return to the familiar ground will be joined by Wagon Repair’s Mathew Jonson.
The full schedule of Sovereign events is still to be revealed – but for electronic music fans, you can count on it being a royally good one.
