It’s been a decade since Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman last set out on an epic road trip, but now the duo are back in the saddle for an all-new global adventure.
The first three episodes of Long Way Up will premiere globally on Apple TV+, September 18, and new episodes will then roll out weekly. Long Way Up is a sequel to Ewan and Charley’s previous adventures, Long Way Round and Long Way Down.
The duo’s ride for this series is the Harley-Davidson LiveWire, the first electric motorcycle from the legendary American brand….
Ewan and Charlie reunited after a decade
This new adventure will take the biker besties from the city of Ushuaia, at the tip of South America, through the landscapes of South and Central America. The two will ride through Argentina, Chile, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador and up through Colombia, Central America and Mexico.
In total, the series will cover 13,000 miles, take over 100 days, and involve 16 border crossings through 13 countries.
Adding an element of unpredictability, the duo’s ride for this series is the Harley-Davidson LiveWire, the first electric motorcycle from the legendary American brand.
Joining them are longtime collaborators, directors David Alexanian and Russ Malkin, this time following the pair in their electric Rivians.
Expect some spectacular scenery in Long Way Up
The series joins an expanding strand of unscripted series and films on the Apple TV+ platform, including the recently announced Fireball, an original feature documentary directed by legendary filmmaker Werner Herzog and Professor Clive Oppenheimer; the soon-to-premiere 2020 Sundance US Grand Jury Prize award-winning documentary, Boys State; and the acclaimed, five-time Emmy nominated (including for Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Special) Beastie Boys Story.
