Private holiday club promises the perfect countryside staycation

Is Fritton Lake one of Britain’s best kept holiday secrets?

Located on the Norfolk Suffolk border, this private holiday club is part of the Somerleyton Estate, set within a thousand-acre rewilding project – and if the images which have landed on the TLR news desk anything to go by, it could be the relaxing wellness, post lockdown staycation we’ve all been looking for.

Members and their guests have a choice of luxury accommodation, including farm cottages and contemporary cabin retreats, each is equipped with a wood-burning stove, private hot tub and a lake or forest-side terrace.

Fancy a pint? The Fritton Arms boutique hotel is the social hub of Fritton Lake. Weekly events include afternoon music sessions and quiz nights.

The Koto cabins offer Scandi style

We’re rather taken by the site’s new Scandi-style cabins, built offsite and designed by modular architecture studio Koto Design. Inspired by Scandinavian and Japanese minimalism, the so-named Miru and Ki cabins seem a perfect fit for their woodland surroundings.

Visitors enjoy private access to Fritton Lake, located on the doorstep of the woodland luxury cabins.  There’s a range of activities on offer, including wild swimming, paddle boarding, sailing and even water skiing.

Fritton Lake reopens its doors to visitors from July 10, complete with all the required Covid-19 measures. For more visit Fritton Lake online here.
