Disney+ confirms June streaming date for Kenneth Branagh directed Artemis Fowl

Disney has confirmed a UK streaming date for its upcoming Artemis Fowl science fantasy movie, which has been fast-tracked to the OTT service in the face of a global theatrical lockdown. The film, touted as a possible franchise, is directed by Kenneth Branagh and stars Ferdia Shaw in the title role, alongside Josh Gad, Tamara Smart, Colin Farrell and Judi Dench. It will be available on Disney+ in the UK from June 12.

Based on the YA books by Eoin Colfer, Artemis Fowl is a visual effects led adventure about a twelve year old criminal mastermind, on a quest to find his missing father.

Artemis Fowl skips theatres and goes straight to streaming

The Coronavirus outbreak has already led Disney to postpone or pause production on Black Widow, Mulan, The New Mutants, The Eternals, and Jungle Cruise.
