Christmas has a way of sharpening the appetite. It’s when tables are dressed to impress, menus become a little more indulgent, and dining becomes an unapologetic indulgence.
For foodies, there’s no finer time. But where to eat out this Christmas?
Whether you’re looking for refined street food or a multi-course blow-out, these are some of the most enticing Christmas menus to book this festive season.
Remember, party hats may be optional, but divine cuisine isn’t…
Mowgli – exquisite Indian street food
Mowgli, the Indian street food restaurants founded by Nisha Katona, bring a distinctly warm, generous spirit to Christmas dining. For the festive season, selected sites, including Charlotte Street, Glasgow, Manchester Corn Exchange, Birmingham, Bristol and Edinburgh, open their intimate private dining spaces, glowing with fairy lights, trailing vines and the comforting aromas of home-style Indian cooking.
If you’ve never experienced Mowgli, now is the time.
The Festive Feasting Menu (£40 per person) begins with a glass of bubbles or a mocktail, followed by a sharing spread of Mowgli favourites. Expect crisp Chat Bombs bursting with spiced yoghurt and tamarind, bold Gunpowder Chicken, rich Mother Butter Chicken and silky Mowgli Paneer. Desserts arrive with ice cream cones, Christmas crackers and the unmistakable warmth of Mowgli hospitality.
For a more theatrical celebration, the Grand Table Christmas Feast (£55 per person) elevates the experience with champagne on arrival and tiered tiffin towers overflowing with colour and flavour, inspired by India’s grand family gatherings, alongside wine or beer.
Few places do festive elegance quite like Home House. The Grade II-listed private members’ club runs its Christmas celebrations through to January 5, welcoming members and non-members alike via dining bookings or overnight stays.
The Festive Set Menu offers a classic three-course lunch or dinner in The Restaurant, with Norfolk Bronze turkey, Christmas pudding with brandy custard and homemade mince pies. Prices start from £65 per person, for groups of up to 10 (or up to 18 in The Garden Room).
For private celebrations, Home House’s opulent dining rooms accommodate up to 70 guests, with festive menus from £55 per person (vegetarian) or £65 per person (regular). A festive Afternoon Tea, served in the Drawing Rooms, is available from £45, or £55 with Champagne, from 20–30 December (excluding Christmas Day). More info here.

All dishes sit alongside Barbs’ core menu – from Bajan fried chicken burgers to piña colada waffles – made from scratch using family recipes. Prices vary by dish. More here.
