British Airways has opened two new airport lounges in Miami and Dubai. Blending the airline’s British design DNA with local cultural cues, both locations boast full-service bars as centrepieces, expanded dining zones and exclusive Concorde Dining Rooms for First passengers.
It’s all part of a wider £7bn investment programme from the carrier.
“Whether you’re looking to relax, dine, work or enjoy a drink at the fully staffed bar, there’s something for everyone,” said Calum Laming, BA Chief Customer Officer. “We’ve blended British originality with each destination’s unique character, and we’re incredibly excited to welcome our customers to these new lounges.”

Miami: Art Deco influences and elevated experiences
In Miami International Airport’s Terminal E, the airline has opened its first dedicated lounge in the city in decades. Spanning 13,000 square feet, it’s the largest lounge outside of London, solely operated by British Airways. The space reflects Miami’s Art Deco heritage, with pastel tones, architectural curves and statement lighting drawing on the city’s iconic hotel strip.
Large windows maximise natural light and frame views across the airfield, with a full-width bar positioned to take advantage of the skyline. Bartenders serve classic and signature cocktails, including a lounge-exclusive Prickly Margarita, alongside local beers and a wide spirits selection.
Reflecting the airline’s playful side, ‘look-up’ moments feature across both lounges, adding a touch of surprise to the experience. Upon arrival in Miami, guests are greeted by a floor mural that, when viewed through the mirrored ceiling, reveals the words ‘London Calling’ as a homage to the airline’s home.
The lounge is divided into five zones, including a main dining area, dedicated work pods and a more secluded seating lounge. Two showers and striped washrooms, inspired by vintage Miami beach chairs, offer a chance to reset between long-haul connections.
In the kitchen, the menu uses seasonal Miami produce given a British twist. Dishes include South Florida flounder with lemon and capers, and papaya salad with coconut and citrus vinaigrette.
Passengers travelling in First gain access to the Concorde Dining Room, where dishes such as Wagyu strip loin and roasted scallops are served alongside Champagne and English sparkling wine.
Dubai: a fusion of Middle Eastern flavours and British classics
In Dubai International Airport’s Terminal 1, the new 5,800 square foot lounge integrates fretwork-inspired metalwork, sweeping arches and mirrored elements drawn from regional architecture, paired with British fabrics and marble finishes.
The lounge’s ‘look-up’ moment is a chandelier framed by a mirrored ceiling in the main dining area, with the iconic British Airways speed marque embedded above.
Dining leans into local flavours, with an Arabic breakfast, mezze and regional desserts offered alongside British classics. The lounge has a dedicated self-serving dining area offering a range of options including an Arabic breakfast, mezze selection, cakes, and cheeseboard.
Passengers can indulge in a selection of premium Champagnes and English Sparkling wines, along with expertly crafted cocktails, such as a Dubai Chocolate Martini, and Bucks Free Fizz, made using fresh orange juice with Lyre’s Classico Grande Non-Alcoholic Sparkling Wine.
Coffee Planet, a UAE-based roastery, sits alongside British tea partner Birchall.
The Concorde Dining Room in Dubai offers an à la carte experience offering Middle Eastern signature dishes such as Arabic mezze and sweet dessert, Umm Ali, and British Original favourites including the famous Concorde Wagyu burger and Scottish smoked salmon.
Ashley Dowell, Design Director at Gensler, said the lounges were designed to feel like calm, intuitive spaces.
“Hospitality-driven and inspired by the heritage of British Airways, combined with the rich vibrancy of each location, the lounges reflect a global journey framed through a British lens,” she said.
Access to the lounges is available to BA customers travelling in Club World (business class) or First; British Airways Club members with Silver status and above, and oneworld customers with Sapphire status and above
