LG DukeBox vacuum tube OLED music system takes lifestyle tech to another level

A smart gentleman listens to the LG DukeBox music system

LG is upping the ante when it comes to design and technology, in 2024. LG Labs, its marketing division offering experimental, innovative products and services, will use CES 2024 to showcase a range of novel luxury technology solutions, including a designer tube based music system with a transparent OLED display.

This year, the size of the LG Labs zone has more than doubled compared to CES 2023, and it will offer a wide range of creative ideas tailored to various lifestyles.

One star attraction is the latest in glamping. The Bon Voyage by LG Labs is a customised trailer designed to bring cutting edge convenience to outdoor living. This new version of the Bon Voyage is some 2 metres wide, and can be furnished with various furniture and appliances, including a bed, refrigerator, electric stove, water purifier, Styler clothes press and shoe care products!

One novel bit of kit which has caught our eye is the DukeBox, an innovative audio product that combines the analogue appeal of vacuum tube audio with cutting-edge transparent OLED panel technology.

It looks to be a brilliant fusion of old-fashioned ideals with state-of-the-art technology.

This head-turning music system features front-facing speakers at the bottom and a 360-degree speaker at the top,for an immersive audio experience.

The DukeBox can be used for music and movies, or even create a cosy fireplace ambiance where the vacuum tube is visible amid flickering flames.

Also making its debut at CES is Duobo, a capsule coffee machine that extracts two different coffee capsules simultaneously. Inspired by space exploration, the Duobo was introduced through a crowdfunding campaign in the US. The exhibition space will feature a large model of the DUOBO together with the space pet character Cubo.

Other novel technology products on display will include the LG CineBeam Qube projector, LG Gram Fold, LG XBOOM, LG StanbyMe Go, LG Tiiun Mini and brid.zzz by LG Labs.

Who said technology design had to be boring?

CES 2024 runs January 9-12, at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
