Luxury Goldmund Melos active wireless Hi-Fi speakers are designed to impress

A pair of Goldmund Melo wireless active speakers in a violet room setting

Luxury Swiss audio brand Goldmund has unveiled a premium active wireless bookshelf speaker, the Melos. Handmade in Geneva, the compact model is described as a harmonious union of advanced technology and meticulous craftsmanship.

It’s also a rather delicious example of Goldmund’s signature industrial design. The aluminium cube, inspired by the brand’s Gaïa flagship speaker, has a rocky aesthetic and is finished in Goldmund’s signature grey style, complemented by matching grey grilles.

If that sounds a little too grey, contrasting black grilles are due to be made available as an option.

The Melos speaker is said to deliver an exceptional bass extension, thanks to the use of advanced crossover technology.

While it’s likely that most users will simply stream music wirelessly to the Melos, there is the provision of digital connectivity on the rear panel, alongside the wireless aerial. A two way design, the speaker marries a soft dome tweeter with a 7-inch woofer, powered by a pair of 175W Telos digital amplifiers.

The brand, which straddles the line between artisan design and high-end Hi-Fi, describes the Melos as a ‘complete work of art’ and we certainly wouldn’t be averse to putting it on a pedestal. More appropriate though may be the matching designer stands, which are expected to arrive shortly.

Melos active speakers are available from Goldmund, priced at £30,000 a pair, or 32,000 Swiss Francs.
