Digital art specialist Vieunite aims to change the way we enjoy art. Its Textura Digital Canvas isn’t just a revolution in the way art can be viewed and enjoyed in the home, it’s also proving an innovative platform for the digital art community.
The brand’s Cultural Director, Dr Benedict Carpenter van Barthold, says the brand is reaching out to emerging artists and collectors alike, establishing partnerships with The Royal Society and RBSA Gallery, as well as cultivating collaborations with contemporary galleries and individual artists, including Central St Martins and the Royal College of Art.
“We take great pleasure in scouring the UK to find the most exciting artists and innovative galleries to collaborate with to display their works on the Vieunite Textura Digital Canvas,” says van Barthold.
“With the ultra-realistic digital display, we see historic artworks come to life but also get to experience stunning digital pieces which are at the cutting edge of British modern art.”

So what is Textura? In short, it’s a digital canvas that uses a texture-accurate, diffused anti-glare display. It can be hung on a wall or sat on a sideboard, with images managed via a smartphone app.
Featuring a slender wooden frame, the 27-inch display is available with either a pine, birch, walnut or black finish, allowing you to match the canvas with your home’s décor.
Once unboxed, the digital canvas needs only be plugged into the mains and paired with the Vieunite app over Wi-Fi. Users can choose between contemporary pieces from Vieunite’s growing artists’ community, including moving images, as well as classic artworks – and yes, you can upload your own digital images for display.
Using the app, you can also schedule what art is shown when, as well as turn the canvas off automatically.
Textura Digital Canvas owners can purchase and display modern art in their homes through a unique marketplace that supports the UK’s creative economy. Artists can sell their artworks directly to art fans, via the Vieunite app, and they’re supported by commission fees that are much lower than traditional galleries.
The company recently announced a collaboration with online art marketplace Cosimo.
The Textura Digital Canvas, available now from vieunite.com, sells for £490.
