Audio-Technica has launched two new limited edition M50x headphones in fashionable Ice Blue. The colourway, for the Bluetooth wireless ATH-M50xBT2IB and wired ATH-M50xIB, was selected through an online vote.
The Y2K-style paint job is said to a favourite of millennials and Gen Zers.
Audio-Technica has been dropping limited-edition hues of these evergreen models since 2012.
The M50x boast proprietary 45mm drivers, for a wide frequency range and studio grade performance, and while neither model offers Active Noise Cancellation, their over-ear design helps isolate external noise.
The colour scheme for the new headphones was selected through an online vote, winning by a whopping 36 per cent…
The 90° swivelling earcups of the ATH-M50xIB allow for easy one-ear monitoring, while the padded headband and earpads ensure a snug and comfortable fit. The collapsible folding body of both models makes them easy to pocket, ideal for listening on the go.
The wireless ATH-M50xBT2IB cans offer 50 hours of continuous use on a full charge, or up to 3 hours of use on a rapid 10-minute charge via USB-C. A Low Latency mode ensures seamless audio synchronisation during gaming or video playback.
They also incorporate an AK4331 audio DAC and dedicated internal headphone amp. Dual microphones and beamforming technology ensure superior call quality.
The headphones are compatible with LDAC and AAC codecs.
There’s multipoint pairing, allowing users to easily switch between devices, while buttons built into the earcups offer control, and access to voice assistants like Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, and Siri. Google Fast Pair makes wireless hook-up quick and painless.
The wired Audio-Technica M50xIB sells for £159 (€189 / $189) and the Bluetooth M50xBT2IB £199.99 (€219 / $219). If you want to add them to your colourful collection of M50x headphones, they’re exclusively available at www.audio-technica.com.
